Nicki Minaj - Starships [EXPLICIT VERSION]
I enjoy listening to Nicki Minaj’s Starships, even though I’m on Team Lil’ Kim. There’s enough D-Pop love to go around ladies. I still don’t quite get Nicki, especially after her crazy Grammy performance that apparently ruffled the frocks of the Catholic clergy. Anyway, check out her fun track and tell me what you think.

Missed Madonna’s performance on the Super Bowl last night? Check out “Ma” performing “Vogue,” “Like a Prayer,” “Music,” “Express Yourself” and “Give Me All Your Luvin’.” I’m not a fan of her latest joint with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Watch for M.I.A. giving “the finger” to the camera during the trio’s performance.
The best parts that deliciously popped for me were “Vogue” and Madonna’s performance with LMFAO. HOT! Well, check it out and tell what you did or didn’t like about the Pop Diva’s super performance.
Check out Madonna’s new “Give Me All Your Luvin’” video, featuring M.I.A and Nicki Minaj. It’s a big weekend for “Ma.” Today, she released this new video; her new album, MDNA, is on iTunes for pre-sale orders; and W.E., a new movie she directed, hits theaters today.
The big weekend will culminate with her highly-anticipated halftime performance for Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday. She’s already lifted the curtain a bit to let adoring fans know that she will be performing three oldie, but goodies, and more than likely her new joint.
Take a look at her new video and tell me what you think?
Nicki Minaj’s “Stupid Hoe” Video
I love me some Lil’ Kim, but Nicki Minaj really put Kim on blast on her new track, “Stupid Hoe.” I heard the track awhile ago, but the video is even more startling. Yes, clutch my pearls shocking.
The video, produced by Hype Williams, makes it much clearer who the hard disses are directed… um, yep… Lil’ Kim. Nicki is donned in the “Lil’ Kim” look throughout the video; so there’s no confusion about who she’s talkin’ about.
Will there rap retaliation from the Queen B? Who knows, but for now, check out Nicki Minaj’s hot new video. Sorry QB. Smooches!
MTV Announces Big News for Britney Spears Tribute
(Updated: Aug. 18, 2011 at 8:13 p.m. ET)
Gurl, have you heard the delicious dish? MTV has announced that Madonna, Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are all involved in a special tribute to pop diva Britney Spears. Miss Brit will receive the “Lifetime Achievement Award” on the 2011 MTV VMAs, next Sunday, Aug. 28, at 9 p.m. ET.
I thought Lady Gaga’s big announcement tonight (Thursday, Aug. 18) had something to do with the big tribute for Brit-Brit, but it wasn’t. Insert sad trombone here. Gaga announced that she will be the opening act for the VMAs. OK, settle down little monsters. We know you’re ecstatic about the news. Yes, this means you’ll get a double dose of Gaga because she will also perform her own rendition of Britney’s hit “Circus.”
What other popular divas are involved in the musical homage to the Ms. Spears? According to Homorazzi.com, Madonna may perform, but for now it looks like she’s just presenting the VMA award to Britney, but the other women are performing. Katy Perry will sing, “Oops! I Did It Again,” Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj will represent with “Gimme More,” and Janet - Miss Jackson cuz I’m nasty - will perform, “I’m a Slave 4 U.”
Newbie pop gals, Selena Gomez will sing “Baby One More Time,” and Demi Lovato will take on “Toxic.” Britney will also take center stage too, and perform “Hold It Against Me” and “I Wanna Go.”
It definitely sounds like a sizzling, celebrity-packed tribute. It looks like this will be a memorable year for MTV’s VMAs especially with hot performances, including Adele, Bruno Mars, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown and Young the Giant. It’s gonna be off the chain.
So get amped and take a look at this VMA teaser with Britney Spears. Pay close attention to see how the weave Janet into the promo. Are you excited yet? Will you be watching the 2011 MTV VMAs? I know I will!
Flashback Friday: Lil’ Kim - Crush on You
Lil’ Kim hasn’t really been in business of making music lately; except for laying down tracks to diss Nicki Minag in an on-going beef. Why do people need to bring back reflections of these old rap beefs like Kool Moe Dee vs. LL Cool J or Roxanne Shante vs. The Real Roxanne? Drop the beef already girls. That’s SO 1980s.
Anyway, congrats to Nicki Minaj on the success of her new album, Pink Friday. She ousted Missy Elliot out of the top spot claiming the throne as the highest selling female rap artist in the Rap/Hip-Hop genre. Wow!
DPop decided to take you back this Friday to the days when the Queen B had a thriving career. So take a look and enjoy this week’s pick for Flashback Friday.
