As promised… here’s It All Belongs To Me, the new track by Monica and Brandy. The R&B divas’ last duet was for The Boy is Mine, 14 years ago.
The women are no longer fighting over a man, but in this song, they are kicking their man —or men— to the curb, claiming all the shit he owns really belongs to them, including that MacBook.
It’s a great song and an even better performance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Thursday night. The women dedicated their performance to Whitney Houston. Monica, wearing a Whitney t-shirt, was visibly upset after the performance, shedding a few tears as the women embraced in a hug. Crying or not, the women look fabulous.
Anyway, the joint pops deliciously. It will appear on Monica’s album, New Life, slated to drop on April 3, 2012, and Brandy’s yet-to-be titled album due out in May. Tell me what you think about this hot duo’s new track.

A New Brandy and Monica Duet Out Next Month
Brandy and Monica are teaming up once again on “It All Belongs to Me,” a new track that will be featured on Brandy’s new yet-to-be titled album and Monica’s new album, New Life. It’s been almost 14 years since the R&B divas won a Grammy Award for “The Boy is Mine.”
If you didn’t know it, 2012 is shaping up to be a good year for Brandy. She has a reoccurring role on the critically acclaimed BET TV show The Game. She’s has plays Melinda Tyler Perry’s movie the Marriage Counselor, along with other notable celebs, including Vanessa Williams and Kim Kardashian. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on July 27, just two months after Brandy’s new album slated to be released. Now that’s what I call a working woman. Werk! No, literally… work!
In an interview with The Grio, Brandy said she and Monica won’t be fighting over a man this time around, but it’s something the fans have always wanted. Here, Here! I can’t wait to hear this new joint. RCA records revealed that the sing will be released on February 6. Don’t worry… I’ll definitely feature it on D-Pop. For now, take a trip back to 1998. Listen to the unforgettable duet, “The Boy is Mine,” featuring Brandy and Monica.
Monica: Anything (To Find You)
Check out this hot new video from R&B diva Monica, featuring Rick Ross. I’m diggin’ the simple, retro hip-hop look, especially the old-school dancers with the skin-tight body suits — the exactly the best choice for a lot of full-bodied dancers.
Anyway, I’m curious to know what you guys think. Do you like Monica’s new video, and will you download New Life, her upcoming new album?
Check out R&B singer Monica’s new joint, “Anything (To Find You),” featuring rapper Rick Ross. We haven’t heard any new music from Monica for about a minute; however, we’ve seen her more recently on NBC’s The Voice as the guest vocal coach for Team Cee Lo.
Now Monica is about to step back into the spotlight again with her new album, New Life, scheduled to drop on Oct. 4, 2011. “Anything” is a nice mid-tempo tune reminiscent of Monica’s patent music style, which is usually R&B with a little sprinkle of Hip-Hop swagger.
And who better to add that flava than Missy Elliot. Yep, she’s another recording artist who’s been off the radar, other than the unfortunate news about her battle with Grave’s Disease and the delayed release of her seventh studio album, Block Party. Word on the street is that Block Party is full of collaborations with other artists, including Timbaland, T-Pain, Danja and Pharrell Williams. I’ll keep my ear to the ground for more details and keep you posted on that.
There are a few juicy details you should know about Monica’s new track. I do try to find the drama if there is any, but apparently the initial track featured rapper Lil’ Kim. The track includes a loop from the Biggie Smalls’ 1995 joint, “Who Shot Ya.” According to Monica, Notorious B.I.G.’s mom, Voletta Wallace, cleared the sample, but denied Kim’s performance on the track. Voletta and Lil’ Kim have been verbally sparing since the 2009 “Notorious” movie, the life and death story of Biggie. Lil’ Kim has always believed that she was portrayed unfavorably and lashed out at Voletta and Faith Evans, vowing to “expose them for who they really are.”
So needless to say, Lil’ Kim’s rap solo was pulled, despite Monica and Missy’s attempt to keep their girl on the track. It’s still a hot song. Now if we can just get Monica to do another song with my girl Brandy, maybe “The Boy Is Mine, Part Deux.” OK…that’s a total dream, but listen to Monica’s “Anything (To Find You),” and tell me what you think.
