Word on the street is that the CW is tapping into its reservoir of comic book characters again, another DC comic superhero to be more precise. Only a year after Smallville ended its 10-year stint on the – what I like to call — bubblegum pop network, it’s already deciding on whether to order a pilot of Arrow.
Arrow is the story of Green Arrow, a billionaire by day and a crime fighter by night, similar to Batman. And if you were a big Smallville fan like I was and am; you’ll remember that Oliver Queen, aka Green Arrow, was Clark Kent’s infamous sidekick on the show. Hmm, I wonder will they get Justin Hartley to reprise his role as the green archer.
Well, rumor has it that someone else will probably don the green suit, and what a big suit he’ll have to fill. I say stick with Hartley to pull in the Smallville fans. Well, one thing is definite. It looks like the writing duo behind the Green Lantern movie, Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, will be working with Fringe co-Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg, to bring keep the superhero alive on the small screen. You may also know the name, Kreisberg, because he’s currently working on one of my favorite TV shows, The Vampire Diaries. Oh, Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). *Sigh*
I digress. Anyway, I did enjoy watching Ryan Reynolds, I mean Green Lantern, but we’ll see whether the pilot, if given the green light, will grab TV critics’ attention. Not even a hot man wielding a bow and arrow could stop a gaggle of pen-wielding TV show killers. It’s all in the stroke.
Either way, if it’s good or bad news, I’ll keep you posted on any other tidbits I hear or find out about riving the billionaire superhero.
“Take it from me. Living without love is not really living. It’s just sort of existing. The question you have to ask yourself is what are you really willing to risk for love.”
Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow advises Clark Kent to reveal his true identity to Lois Lane, on Smallville.
